The purpose of our existence is achieving the worship and servitude of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He; "I have not created jinn kind and mankind except to worship Me." 51:56 The aim of this worship is, primarily, achieving Allah's pleasure and, pursuantly, entry to Paradise. Allah will enter those with whom He is pleased into the Garden, but just as there are levels and degrees to Allah's pleasure, there are levels and degrees to His Paradise. An individual's accumulation of good deeds in this world will determine his rank in the next. The more accepted deeds he amasses the higher his status. The longer we live, the greater our opportunity to earn a higher status.
Therefore, a Muslim covets life, not for life itself, but rather to use it to procure the largest possible number of good deeds and corresponding rewards.
This work contains 60 authentic Ahãdīth of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh). In each of them, the Prophet mentions a deed or deeds that a believer can do and earn rewards that it would otherwise take a lifetime or many lifetimes to earn. If a Muslim observes as many of these sunan (highly recommended practices) as he or she can, he or she will find his/her scales overflowing with good deeds on the Day of Resurrection.
Allah says, about those whose scales are filled with and weighed down by good deeds, what can be translated: "As for he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy. His will be a life (in the Hereafter) of pleasure and satisfaction." 101:6-7
We should all wish to be from those described in this verse, and in this book I have compiled a number of varied means for us to make it so. So, he who is unable to observe some of them needn't despair, he will find others well within his reach.
Alhumdulila very nice!
